Danielle Tucker (nee Forrester) practices in public and commercial law. Danielle has appeared in several proceedings in the High Court, including in constitutional matters. Danielle has been led in the NSW Court of Appeal and the Australian Competition Tribunal, and has also appeared unled in the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, NSW Supreme Court and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Before coming to the Bar in 2014, Danielle served as Counsel Assisting the Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth for two years (Justin Gleeson SC and earlier Stephen Gageler SC, as His Honour then was). During this time, Danielle was briefed as junior counsel in various matters and also assisted the Solicitor-General in the preparation of matters in the High Court and international courts, including matters such as JT International SA v Commonwealth of Australia (Plain Packaging case). Danielle also co-authored opinions with the Solicitor-General and assisted in the research and drafting of advice to government at the highest levels. Danielle was a member of Australia’s delegation to the International Court of Justice in the Whaling in the Antarctic Case (Australia v Japan; New Zealand Intervening).
Danielle was also a litigator for more than eight years with the Australian Government Solicitor, including as a Senior Lawyer in the Constitutional Litigation Unit and in Dispute Resolution.
