James is a commercial silk with a broad practice across many areas of commercial law. He has expertise in competition and consumer law, energy law, class actions, corporations and insolvency law and professional negligence. He regularly advises and appears in relation to regulatory investigations or proceedings brought by ASIC, the ACCC, the AER and AUSTRAC.
James also has experience in relation to commissions of inquiry. He advised and appeared for the Westpac Group in the Financial Services Royal Commission and for the Commonwealth of Australia in the Aged Care Royal Commission and the Disability Royal Commission.
Before joining the Bar, James was a senior associate at Allens. He holds a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.
