Todd has practiced at the Bar for over 35 years and as Senior Counsel since 2003. He is predominantly a trial advocate with extensive experience across the jurisdictions of all Superior Courts of Australia, particularly in equity and commercial law. He regularly appears in the Court of Appeal, and in the Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia.
Todd is known for his ability to cross examine, with meticulous preparation and attention to detail. He is a versatile Silk, having conducted hundreds of broad ranging commercial cases, as well as professional negligence, planning and environment, building and engineering, defamation, insurance, fraud, and criminal matters, at first instance and on appeal. In crime, Todd has appeared for accused indicted on serious criminal offences including murder, fraud, and historical sex charges. He also appears in sentencing appeals.
Todd has appeared as Counsel Assisting the ICAC and for the Commission in judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court and appellate Courts. He has also represented affected persons at ICAC in various public inquiries. He appeared in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
