Stephanie has a broad practice in both commercial law and public law. Stephanie’s commercial law practice includes corporations law, equity, professional negligence and competition and consumer law, as well as general commercial law issues such as contract, restitution and tort law. In her public law practice, Stephanie has been briefed in matters involving judicial review and administrative law, extradition law, misfeasance in public office, immigration law, and environmental and planning law.
Stephanie has advised and appeared for companies, individuals, government instrumentalities (such as the ACCC and ASIC) and several foreign states (in extradition proceedings). She has experience in a variety of courts and tribunals, having appeared in the NSW Court of Appeal, the NSW Supreme Court, the Federal Court (both at first instance and in the Full Court), the Federal Circuit Court, the Local Court and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Stephanie also has experience assisting regulators in the conduct of investigations, including conducting compulsory examinations and witness interviews.
Prior to being called to the Bar in 2012, Stephanie practised as a Senior Associate at Ashurst (then Blake Dawson), where she worked for over 5 years. In 2010 and 2011, she also lectured (part-time) in the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales. Stephanie graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Hons I). Immediately after graduating, she worked as an Associate, and then Research Assistant, to the Honourable Justice Lindgren of the Federal Court of Australia.
